TEDxGNITS

TEDxGNITS is an independently organized TED event which was held in the month of August 2018. The event was organized by Geethika (EEE 4/4) as the lead organizer along with a team of 20 students from various departments under the guidance of Dr.B.Sushma, Asst Prof of English, H & M Dept.

The event had six speakers who came down to Hyderabad from all over India. The highlights of the event were two young speakers Siddharth Roy, 19 and Jatin Wahane, 18 gave their speeches on the topics ‘The Cost of everything we do’ and the ‘Journey of Life’ respectively. The third was Mr. Diyanat Ali, who is the founder of Greater Hyderabad Adventure Club (GHAC) and he spoke about the importance of adventure in our everyday lives. The fourth speaker for the day was Mrs. Arundati Gangula who is the founder and correspondent of Sanghamitra School, Hyderabad and spoke about what growing up in a middle class family is like and her journey from being a teacher to being a Chairperson. It has inspired many of the attendees.

The fifth speaker of the day was Satish Kumar Pendyala who is a social activist and a reformer. He shared some of his experiences of his journey as an activist and how important it is for individuals to stand up for themselves and for their rights. The last talk for the day was by Mr. Christopher C Doyle, an international author who is passionate about mythology, which is evidently seen in his historical fiction. In his talk, he spoke about different monuments and sculptures which were established way before the existence of humans, and he related all of this to our ancient epic, The Mahabharat. The event concluded with a thankyou note by Dr. P. Aparna, HOD, H & M. The event came to an end at around 4 p.m. with some pictures, laughs and lots of memories.
