The ECE department has a separate block with ten laboratories and state-of-art equipment. The total amount spent to establish all the laboratories is about 3.27 Crores. The total area of ECE dept is 3000 sq.mtrs. The department has Nine B.Tech and one M.Tech classrooms equipped with overhead projectors. The department also has eleven LCD projector, one scanner, 5 printers, 140 computer systems that are networked. For departmental work, 3 systems with Internet facility are provided in HOD’s room. The classrooms are well ventilated and furnished with black board, white screen and overhead projector. Departmental library, Electronic Hobby center, Seminar Hall & one common Hall on each floor of the building are the highlights of the department.
During the last 20 (Twenty) years, the department has developed the complete infrastructure required for conducting regular theory classes and laboratories for practical’s related to B.Tech & M.Tech(DECE) program. The department has spent a substantial amount for procuring useful software packages such as VHDL, XILINX, MATLAB 2019b (unlimited licenses), P-SPICE, HFFS & KIEL µ5 software etc. Microwave laboratory is quite well-equipped with twelve microwave benches and optical communication trainer kits. Communication Lab has Digital & Analog Communication trainer kits, Digital Storage Oscilloscope, Spectrum Analyzer (3GHz), Arbitrary Signal Generators etc. Microprocessor & Micro controller laboratory has sufficient trainer kits, software packages. The ECE department conducted 10 Workshops in different fields like Signal and Image processing, VLSI and Microprocessors. The following laboratories are established and are well equipped as per the curriculum requirements.
Electronic Devices and Circuits (EDC) Lab: The Laboratory has been established in the year 1998 and well equipped with sufficient number of C.R.O’s, Function Generators, RPS, Bread boards, Digital and Analog Voltmeters & Ammeters etc. The laboratory consists of about 50 Experimental kits.
Analog Communication (AC) Lab: The Laboratory is well equipped with different Modulation and Demodulation kits such as AM, FM, DSB-SC, SSB-SC, and TDM etc. Also the above Experiments have been simulated using “MATLAB Version 9.5”. The Lab is also equipped with Spectrum Analyser of 5KHz-3GHz, 2-Channel 350 MHz Digital storage oscilloscope, Eight 30 MHz 2-channel CROs, Four 4-Channel 60 MHz Digital storage oscilloscopes, 120MHz Function generators and a Dynamic radio demonstrator.
Linear Integrated Circuits Applications (LICA) Lab: The Laboratory consists of about 50 Experimental trainer kits on linear IC Applications. Apart from this, the lab has an IC tester, Bread Board trainer kits, 20MHz CRO’s and Function Generators.
Pulse Digital Circuits (PDC) Lab: The Laboratory is well equipped with sufficient number of Function & signal Generators, CRO’s, Regulated power supplies, bread boards, digital multi-meters and Decade resistance, capacitance and Inductance boxes etc. for the students to conduct experiments based on topics like Multi vibrators, Schmitt trigger, logic gates, Flip-Flops, Linear & Nonlinear wave shaping, sweep circuits, combinational circuits, and relaxation oscillator. The Lab is also equipped with different kits to study and analyze the experiments on above topics.
Digital Integrated Circuits Applications (DICA) Lab: Digital IC Application experiments on this Combinational circuits such as adder, Subtractor, Multiplexer, comparators, Priority Encoders and Sequential circuits such as Pseudo sequence generator, Universal Shift Registers and Counters. The Laboratory consists of about 30 Experimental trainer kits to conduct the above experiments.
Microprocessor & Micro controller (MP&MC) Lab: The laboratory has been established to satisfy the needs in the area of Microprocessors & Micro controllers focusing on embedded systems. The Lab has Keil & µ5 software’s and has 30 micro controller trainer kits, 21 microprocessor trainer kits and 20 micro controller development board sets. In addition to these a wide range of micro controllers and microprocessors are available for experiments and project work. Further smart card development kits, wireless application Modules and RFID development kits are also available. In addition to these there are 36 networked computer systems with latest configuration. For demonstration and explanation of the experiments an LCD projector is fixed. A 11KVA UPS is available for uninterrupted power.
Microwave (MW) Lab: This laboratory is well equipped with 12 Reflex Klystron test benches, 4 Gunn Oscillators test benches with different kinds of loads. It also consists of 9 VSWR meters, 12 CROs, Digital storage CRO, 7 fiber optic trainer kits for determining the characteristics of LED, LASER and photo detector. Microwave antennas like Pyramidal horn, E-Plane and H-Plane sectoral horns and various microwave components are also available.
Digital Communication (DC) Lab: The lab has a number of digital communication kits such as ASK, FSK, PSK, QPSK, PCM, DM, ADM, DPCM etc. The Lab consists of Spectrum Analyzer of 5k-3GHz, 2-Channel 350 MHz Digital storage oscilloscope, Eight 30 MHz 2-channel CROs, Four 4-Channel 60 MHz Digital storage oscilloscopes and 120MHz Function generators
Analog Electronics Lab: In this laboratory, the students are trained to design various electronic circuits like power amplifiers, tuned amplifiers, regulators, oscillators, feedback amplifiers using Multisim software and hardware trainer kits. The lab has Multisim 2001 version software for conducting software experiments and hardware trainer kits, CRO’s, DC power supplies, Function Generators, Multimeters for conducting hardware experiments. The lab is equipped with 26 number of computer systems with online UPS which are networked.
ECAD and VLSI LAB: ECAD & VLSI lab is equipped with sufficient number of systems with online UPS and networking. The lab has sufficient software such as Active HDL (20 user keys), Mentor HEP1 Category software with 40 users, Xilinx Universal trainer unit, FPGA module, Simplify pro, Synthesis tool (2user key), VLSI design suit consisting of universal base unit, XILINX CPLD module. Recently, the ECAD & VLSI lab is updated with the new software and Hardware i.e. XILINX system Edition (perpetual) 40 users, Spartan 6E board with cable (7boards) and Mentor HEP 1 and HEP 2 Category software with 30 users
Digital Signal Processing Lab: This laboratory is equipped with Texas manufactured DSP Starter kits with the core processor being TMS320C6713 and TMS 320C6748 and Code composer studio (full version). This lab exposes the aspects of Digital Signal Processing. Many of the algorithms and filter designing related to DSP are implemented in MATLAB software, Code Composer Studio ( Full Version) and using TMS320C6713 DSP processor.
Basic Simulation lab: This lab has sufficient number of systems with networking to implement the basic concepts in the area of signal and systems using MATLAB version 9.5 , R2018b software with unlimited campus wide License.
Electronic Design Lab : Electronic Design Lab is newly established lab equipped with sufficient number of systems with online UPS and Networking. In this laboratory, experiments on Arduino Uno, VLSI design suit, MATLAB 2019b licensed software and HFSS software are planned. The Lab had sufficient Arduino Uno Nano with I/O sensors. Digital Communication experiments are simulated using Matlab/LabVIEW. VLSI experiments, Antenna Design experiments are done using High Frequency Structural Simulator(HFSS).
COMPUTER NETWORKS LAB: The Computer Networks Lab is equipped with sufficient number of systems with online UPS and networking. The lab uses NetSim network simulation software for protocol(Ethernet, Wireless LAN (Wi-Fi), MANETs, Wireless Sensor Networks, Cognitive Radio Networks, (VANETs) LTE Networks etc.) modelling and simulation network R & D and defence applications.
Research & Development Centre: The R&D Centre was established in the year 2007-08. It has 10 computers with internet access. The R&D centre is for use by PG & UG Students of the ECE Department. It is meant for research for information on the net and for project work. The R&D centre is manned by dedicated staff. The R&D centre equipped with the following hard ware & software – 1. Multisim-2001, 2. MATLAB-8.6, 3. TASM, TD, 4. System on Chip, 5. LPC2148 (ARM) hardware & Software, Micro Controller 32 Bit, 6. AT89V51RD2 Micro Controller 8Bit, Analog Discovery kit, HFSS Hardware & software The R&D is used extensively by 3rd & 4th Year UG, PG students for Research & Project work.
Electronic Hobby Centre: Electronic Hobby center was started on 22nd Feb’2006 with the motto of encouraging true experimenting nature of engineering students. The hobby center contains soldering kits, electronic components, testing and measuring equipment required for completing the hobby projects, mini projects, main projects etc. During free time any student / staff of any department can come to this center for completing their projects. This center is consistently supported by staff.
e-classroom: The e-classroom was inaugurated on from 27th June 2019. The list of amenities in the e-classroom are: Smart Board with short throughput projector, Modular benches with a seating capacity of 78 with PAS and collar mike, 79 computers with internet connection, which are connected to 20 KVA online UPS. The total budget spent on establishing e-classroom is Rs 51,81,654/-. This e-classroom is used effectively for hands-on sessions in Python, Embedded systems in IoT, Java, C, MPMC -assembly level programming, LabVIEW, Linux.

Advanced Digital System Design:
The Lab is equipped with sufficient computer systems, XILINX system Edition (perpetual) 25 users, Spartan 6E board with cable (7boards) and Mentor HEP 1 and HEP 2 Category software with 30 user.
Micro Controller and Programmable Digital Signal Processors Lab:
This Lab is equipped with ARM CORTEX M3 development Kit and DSP Processor TMS 320C6748.
Advanced Communication Networks Lab:
In this lab experiments based on TCP/IP client server and network implementation will be learnt using Linux. This lab has 18 number of systems with Fedora Linux and GNS3(Graphical Network Simulator).
Wireless Mobile Communications Lab:
In this lab GSM and CDMA communication systems are analyzed to comprehend the concepts on fading, diversity and equalization.
