2022-23

  • CSE dept.,organized an AICTE Sponsored 6thInternational Conference on Intelligent Computing and Communications(ICICC-22) held on18thand19th November 2022 in collaboration with E&ICT Academy, NIT, Warangal on the occasion of Silver Jubilee Celebrations.
    • Day 1:Two Special Sessions were delivered by keynote speakers of SriChandrakantPithawa, PadmaSri Awardee, Former Director-BARC, Mumbai and Nuclear Scientist and Prof. KC Santosh, Chair, Dept. of CS, University of South Dakota, USA.
    • Day 2: Delivered a talk on ‘Computational Intelligence: A New Approach of Problem Solving’ by Suresh Chandra Satpathy, Professor and Dean (Research), KIIT, Bhubaneswar, Odisha and talk on ‘Future Technology Trends-Career Opportunities in Metaverse/Web 3.0/AI/AR/MR’ by Mr.Srinivasa Reddy, Senior Director, Mixed Reality, Microsoft India, Hyderabad.
    • In the Valedictory function, we had eminent Academicians as Chief Guest, N.V. Ramana Rao,Director, NIT Warangal and as Guest of Honor Prof. Katta Narasimha Reddy, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, JNTUH, Prof RBV Subramanym, Chief Investigator, E&ICT Academy, Dr.SRavichandra, HoD-CSE, NIT Warangal, Prof KC Santosh, Chair, Dept. of CS, University of South Dakota, USA, Mr. Srinivasa Reddy, Senior Director, Mixed Reality, Microsoft India ,along with hon’ble Vice-Chairman Smt.Sri Vidya Reddy Gunampalli, Prof. K.RameshReddy, Principal-GNITS and conference chairs Prof S.C.Satpathy and Dr.M.Seetha.
  • Various proposals for different research schemes were submitted to DST (8), Dept. of Biotechnology (2)and ICSSR (1) worth 3,02,28,605/- in the academic year 2022-2023.
  • Signed MoU with CYMAX Infotainment Pvt. Ltd. related to the activities of Skill based training and Expert Lectures in Jan 2023.
  • 168 B.Tech students from 2019-2023 batch and 2 M. Tech. students have been placed in reputed MNC’s.
  • 2 students of 2019-2023 batch got placed in Twilio with a CTC of 47 Lakh/Annum.
  • Totally 125 students got internships in the academic year 2022-2023 in various companies like Microsoft, Salesforce, D.E Shaw with a highest stipend of 1,25,000/-
  • Pratyusha, IV CSE C, along with her team mates B.Vidya Sree IV CSE C and Ameena IV ECE-B has successfully incorporated a company named Dyonya Private Limited. She has been persistently working on the idea under the guidance of Dr.M.Seetha, Dr. A.Sharada and Mrs. M. Lalitha since her 2nd year.
  • Pratyusha and B. Vidya Sree IV CSE C, received the GNITS Seed Grant for developing a healthcare product, Glycosap and won a consolation prize at Anveshana 2023 finals for the idea and also got selected for the WE-Alpha and UP surge programs at WE Hub.
  • Tharunya Varma, III CSE A, received 2nd prize in Essay Writing Competition on Cyber Security in JNTUH Golden Jubilee Celebrations in Sept 2022.
  • Keerthi Sri, III CSE-C, received 2nd prize in short film on Cyber Security at JNTUH Golden Jubilee Celebrations in Sept 2022.
  • Pravalika and Sana Sultana II CSE C won Consolation prize in National Level Hackathon on Rich Web Application Development conducted by Nalla Narasimha Reddy College of Engineering on 29/04 2023.
  • 2 students received Best Research Paper Awardsin the 6th Pure Earth Environment Conference organised by Pure Earth Foundation and Jawaharlal Nehru Architecture and Fine Arts University in Hyderabad in Apr 2023.
  • Overall the students of all I, II, III and IV year participated in 27 workshops, 14 poster presentations, 22 quiz competitions, published 32 papers in National and International journals and completed 40 certification courses.
  • The following 2 hackathons were conducted under CSI by Dept. of CSE.

2021-22

  • 2 DST Projects worth Rs. 58, 14,719/- were sanctioned under Device Development Program (DDP) and Technology Interventions for Disabled and Elderly (TIDE) schemes.
    • TIDE project worth 37, 00,410/- was sanctioned for a duration of 3 years in March 2022. Dr. M. Seetha, Professor & Head, Dr. N. Kalyani, Professor are the Principal Investigators, Mrs. Y. Sravani Devi, Asst. Prof, Dr. D. V. Lalitha Parameswari, Assoc. Prof, Mrs. T. Swapna Asst. Prof, are CO – PI’s of the project.
    • DDP project worth 21, 14,309/- was sanctioned for a duration of 2 years in Oct 2021. Dr. M. Seetha, Professor & Head, Dr. N. Kalyani, Professor are the Principal Investigators PI’s, Mrs. Y. Sravani Devi and Mrs. V. Divya Raj Asst. Profs, are CO – PI’s of the project.
  • Department of CSE has been recognized as R&D Center by JNTUH in 2022 for 3 Years.
  • M. Seetha, Professor & Head, Dr. N. Kalyani, Dr. A. Sharada, Professors, have been recognized as Co-Supervisors under KL university from the year 2022.
  • Various proposals for different research schemes and FDP’s were submitted to DST (2), DRDO (2), NRSC (1) and FDP’s (2) worth 3, 34, 28, 953/- in the academic year 2021-2022.
  • The department has procured a 3-D printer worth 2, 51,812/- which allows for the design and print of complex designs.
  • 6th International Conference on Intelligent Computing and Communication (ICICC-22) brochure was released on 06/08/2022 and it is sponsored by AICTE, jointly organized by CSE Dept of GNITS and E & ICT Academy of NIT Warangal on 18th & 19th Nov 2022.
  • Two Computer Labs (CL-12 & CL-13) were established in the Department for the specialization courses CSM and CSD branches on 06/08/2022.
  • Institutional membership with AIMER was granted for 5 years to promote research activities among members on medical domain.
  • Signed MoU with IBC Media related to the activities of Blockchain Technology in August and with IBM to train the faculty and students in the latest technologies in June 2022.
  • Department of CSE in association with IIITH is conducting College Research Affiliation program in the technological areas like IoT and Speech processing (NLP) with 4 faculty members Mrs. P. Sunitha Devi, Mrs. R. Pallavi Reddy, Mrs. Bhageshwari Ratkal and Mrs. Nanda Devi D R Asst. Profs along with 58 students of 2019-2023 Batch.
  • M.Lalitha and Mrs. R.Mamatha, Asst. Profs received ‘Uttama Adyapika’ award from Bharat Education Excellence on 4/09/2022 at Andhra University, Vishakapatnam.
  • 8 patents were filed and published by faculty inventors of the department in the year 2021-22.
    • Raghavender K. V, Assoc. Prof, published three patents on ‘Artifical Intelligence based approach to analyze the effective means of human computer interaction interfaces’ in June 2022.
    • ‘A Machine Learning Based System for providing a Biomedical User Interface’ in March 2022.
    • ‘IoT based smart city power management technique’ in March 2022.
    • Bhageshwari Ratkal, Asst. Prof, published a patent on ‘Mining safety protocol monitoring system employing IOT integrated hyper-ledger cloud module’ in May 2022.

    • T. Anil, Asst. Prof, filed and published a patent with the title ‘Land survey and registration system with video proofing based IOT hyper ledger cloud module’ in Dec 2021.

  • R. Pallavi Reddy, Asst. Prof received Research Excellence Award from the Institute of Scholars in Sept 2021.

  • Faculty of Dept. received 2 Best paper awards presented in International and National Conferences for the year 2021-2022.
  • Department congratulates the faculty, Ch. Radhika and Mrs. Ch. Swathi, Asst. Profs, who registered for Ph.D in JNTUH, May 2022.
  • 171 B. Tech. students from 2018-2022 batch and 5 M. Tech. students have been placed in reputed MNC’s.
  • Keerthana Pravallika and N. Charitha, IV CSE B got placed in Twilio with a CTC of 47 Lakh/Annum and an internship offer of Rs. 1,22,325/- Lakh/Month.
  • Ifrah Fatima(18251A05C9) got overall college topper with a CGPA of 74.
  • Shivani Reddy, IV CSE A participated in 40 hrs hackathon conducted by Infosys in Pune and secured I prize and a cash award of Rs. 2,00,000/- in Aug 2022.
  • Keerthana Pravallika and S. Divya, IV CSE B along with ETM and EEE students participated in SIH 2022 conducted by DoT on Caller ID Spoofing at Kochi, secured I prize with a cash award of Rs. 1,00,000/- in Aug 2022.
  • Loka Swetha Sri Lakshmi (16251A05F0) with 9.20 CGPA received Best Outgoing Student – CSE and Dr. Md. Vizarath Rasool Khan endowment Gold Medal – CSE – 1st rank, for the academic year 2019-20 from JNTUH.
  • V. Akshita (17251A05E9), with 8.61 CGPA received Late Prof. G. Purushotham memorial Endowment Gold Medal for best outgoing student who got highest marks in Mathematics-I for the academic year 2020-2021 from JNTUH.
  • GNITS Star Women of the Year 2022 – as part of International Women’s Day Celebrations on 8/03/2022 was awarded to Y Priya Amrutha, V Jahnavi, S Srilekha, IV CSE-A, B & C.
  • The following three 36-hour hackathons were conducted under CSI by Dept. of CSE.
  • MERN Stack Applications Development for II B. Tech students in association with Brain O Vision Solutions Pvt. Ltd., Hyderabad from 07/04/2022 to 08/04/2022. Winners of the hackathon follows and received internship offer.

  • ML Applications Using IBM Cloud & Watson Studio for III B. Tech students in association with Smart Bridge Solutions Pvt. Ltd., Hyderabad from 18/12/2021 to 19/12/2021. Selected top 5 batches in the hackathon and offered internship, externship for the top two batches and  opportunity to work in guided projects for the remaining batches. Following are the winners.

2020-21

  • Two Computer Labs were established in the Department for the specialization courses CSM and CSD branches on 10/07/2021.
  • Various proposals for different research schemes and FDP’s were submitted to DST(5), NRSC(2), FDP’s(5) and 1 RPS (AICTE-AQIS) worth Rs 2, 42, 12,142 /- to the funding agencies of DST/SERB/ISRO RESPOND/AICTE etc. in the year 2020-2021.
  • Signed MoU with M/s. CEDURA TESTSOL Pvt. Ltd., Hyderabad.
  • Department of CSE is accredited for UG course by NBA for the academic years 2021-2022 to 2023-2024.
  • Department congratulates the faculty, M. Lalitha, Mr. N. Venkateswarulu and Mrs. K. Sneha Reddy, Asst. Profs, who registered for Ph.D. in KL University in Dec 2020.
  • Two patents were filed and published by faculty inventors of the department in the year 2021
  • M. Seetha, Professor & Head, Dr. N. Kalyani, Professor and Mrs. Y.Sravani Devi, Asst.Prof, filed a patent with the title ‘A Variational Auto-Encoder Convolutional Neural  Network (VAE-CNN) Model to Identify the Prevalence of Diabetic Retinopathy Disease’ in the dept. of Industrial Policy & Promotions on 11/06/2021.
  • Ch.Swathi, Asst. Prof, filed a patent with the title ‘A Novel Real Time Sentiment Data Classification System with enhanced long short term Memory’ in April 2021.
  • Awareness sessions were conducted under the activities of the dept. R & D cell for the faculty.
    • M. Seetha, Professor & Head delivered session on ‘Overview of Research Proposal Writing’ on 24/11/2020.
    • K. Venugopal Rao, Professor delivered session on ‘Budget and Methodology for Research Proposal Writing’ on 27/11/2020.
  • Received One Best research paper and Two Best paper awards presented in international and national conferences for the year 2020-2021.
  • Raghavender K V, Assoc. Prof, honoured with ‘Award of Excellence in Research’ from Novel Research Academy, Puducherry in March 2021.
  • 156 Tech Students from 2017-2021 batch, 1 M.Tech student from 2019-2021 batch have been placed in reputed MNC’s and three students of IV CSE got placed with a CTC of more than 40 Lakh/Annum.
  • 5 B.Tech students of III CSE have been offered internship with a stipend of 1 Lakh/Month.

2019-20

  • A SEED amount of 4, 25,000/- from GNITS Management was sanctioned towards two research projects.

  • Three patents were filed and published by faculty and student inventors of the department.
  • 163 B. Tech. students from 2016-2020 batch and 1 M. Tech. student from 2018-2020 batch have been placed in reputed MNC’s.
  • Lohitha Reddy, IV-CSE A got placed in M/s Adobe with a CTC of 43.75 Lakh/Annum.
  • Two research proposals shortlisted by DST-TIDE and were presented for final review.

  • Yamini Reddy and team III CSE C was participated in Smart India Hackathon 2020(Software Edition) finals on ‘Predictive analysis model to estimate the crop yield and its compensation’.
  • The department organized a national level online technical workshop on the ‘DART Programming Language’ for II & III B. Tech students under CSI in association with Brain O Vision solutions India Pvt. Ltd., Hyderabad on 27/07/2020.
  • Department of CSE organized a free Webinar on ‘Understanding Cloud Computing’ under CSI on 10/07/2020.
  • The department conducted a 4-week remote summer internship program on ‘Artificial Intelligence & Deep Learning’ for II B.Tech students in association with SmartBridgefrom 15/04/2020 to 13/05/2020.
  • 65 students of I B. Tech successfully completed the course on ‘Fundamentals of Python Programming’ under Edyst.
  • A 24-hour hackathon on Web Application Development was conducted for II B. Tech students under CSI by Dept. of CSE in association with Brain O Vision solutions India Pvt. Ltd., Hyderabad from 18/1/20 to 19/1/20. Following are the winners.

2018-19

  • PG course (M.Tech. in Computer Science) offered by the dept. is accredited by NBA for a period of three years.
  • 126 B.Tech. students from 2015-2019 batch have been placed in reputed MNC’s. Highest package being paid is 11 lakhs / annum by JPMC, SalesForce and F5 Networks.
  • 17 Tech. IV year students got through the All India Level Code for Good – 2019 contest conducted by J.P.Morgan. L Swetha Srilakshmi, IV CSE C stood as runner up.
  • Research proposal submitted to CSRI, DST on Automatic Early Stress Detection for Classroom Environment using Multimodal Data was presented in second round by M.Seetha, Professor and Head and Dr.A.Sharada, Professor at INSA, New Delhi on 19/6/19.
  • Three week ‘Summer Internship Program 2019’ on AI, Machine Learning and IoT was conducted from 3/6/19 to 22/6/19 in association with SmartBridge and IBM. 194 students participated in the program and for the 23 shortlisted students one week hackathon at NITAM and IIIT Hyderabad was conducted.
  •  CSE conducted 24hr Hackathon on Android Programming under CSI in association with Brain O Vision Solutions India Pvt. Ltd., Hyderabad on 10/3/19. Following are the winners.

  • Two proposals ‘Quick Help’ and ‘Waste Segregation’ were drafted and submitted for patent filing.
  • N.Kalyani, Professor received Accenture Star Achiever Award, G.Madhulika, T.Alekhya, 2015-2019 batch, received Accenture Star Student Award from Accenture on 16/3/19.
  • Swetha Srilakshmi, L. Pravalika, IV CSE C, received Most Promising Products Award in EXCITE 2019 conducted by JHUB, JNTUH from 22/5/19 to 29/6/19. 
  • Ch Sai Harini, N Lohitha , IV CSE B were among the 100 women engineers selected from all over India for TalentSprint, WE program sponsored by Google with stipend of Rs1,00,000/- per annum.
  • Interface for online application form for B category seats was developed by Sakila, Bhavya Singh, III CSE C under the guidance of Dr.N.Kalyani, Professor. 
  • New Computer Lab 10 was established and inaugurated on 18/12/2018 along with 4 class rooms in 4th floor.
  • Hebeon Java Programming Work Bench valedictory was conducted on 8/01/2019. Certificates were distributed to the students who completed the course.

  • Three courses – Domestic Data entry Operator, Domestic IT Helpdesk Attendant and Junior Software Developer were conducted with grants received under PMKVY –TI scheme.
  • 7 proposals were submitted to DST and 3 proposals were submitted to AICTE.
  • Department of CSE conducted 24hr Hackathon on “TEKHACK – GNITS” under CSI, IoT COE in association with Smart Bridge on 15/9/218. Following are the winners.
